Bags of Hope

Bags of Hope provides foster children with the resources they need
and the dignity they deserve with duffel bags filled with supplies.

about bags of hope

Give dignity and hope to children in foster care.

Children in foster care move an average of seven times before the age of 18. Usually, they leave abruptly and with very few personal belongings. Too often their items are collected into a trash bag. Imagine the situation and message that is being sent to the child while putting the only things that belong to them into a trash bag.

step-by-step process

How It Works

Multiple times per year, we get together to pack duffel bags
to donate to children in foster care.

1

Purchase New Duffel Bags

For Bags of Hope, we purchase new duffel bags to provide foster children a way to carry their things from house to house with dignity.

2

Fill the Bags with Supplies

Before donating the duffel bags, we fill them with needed toiletries, supplies, and a special hand-written message from our team.

3

Separate the Bags by Gender & Ethnicity

We also divide the bags based on gender and ethnicity to provide culturally appropriate hair and skin care products, as well as feminine hygiene products.
