Springtime Events at CARE Elementary with It’s 4 the Kids

Spring is in full bloom at CARE Elementary, and thanks to our volunteers and their generosity, the season is bursting with fun, learning, and unforgettable experiences for the children.
At CARE Elementary, we believe every child deserves opportunities that spark joy and ignite curiosity. That’s why we’ve adopted a class at this under-resourced school, bringing almost-weekly events to brighten the students’ days and further their education. This spring has already been full of exciting surprises, and we’re thrilled to share some of the highlights!
Ice Cream Truck Day with KWPMC
In early March, we partnered with KW Property Management & Consulting (KWPMC) to bring a surprise to the entire CARE Elementary School—an ice cream truck day! Laughter and joy filled the air as students lined up to enjoy their ice cream. This simple gesture brought so much happiness to the kids!
But the impact doesn’t stop there. Inspired by the event, we are working with KWPMC to explore additional opportunities with them such as sending maintenance technicians to assist with school projects, engaging leadership to participate as career speakers, and even continuing to bring ice cream trucks to the school in the future.
This partnership is a perfect example of how a single act of kindness can inspire ongoing support and create lasting change. At It’s 4 the Kids, we are beyond grateful to KWPMC for their generosity and interest in making a difference.
Spring Boxes and the Magic of Butterflies
Spring is a time of transformation, and what better way to embrace the season than by witnessing the miracle of metamorphosis?
This March, the first-grade class at CARE Elementary received special spring boxes, sponsored by It’s 4 the Kids, containing caterpillars that will transform into butterflies over spring break. If you’ve never seen a butterfly garden – it’s priceless and perfect for young children (and adults)!
Each kit includes live caterpillars, a habitat container, and food for them to eat as they grow. Over time, the caterpillars form chrysalises, and after a period of transformation, beautiful butterflies emerge. Once they are ready, the butterflies can be released into nature, allowing the kids to experience the full life cycle of these delicate creatures up close. This hands-on learning experience fosters curiosity, responsibility, and a deeper appreciation for nature.
We can’t wait to see the kids’ excitement when they release their beautiful winged friends into the world just in time for Easter!
Transforming Caterpillars to Butterflies: A Learning Opportunity
This butterfly kit experience ties into the book The Beautiful Caterpillar, written by the founder of It’s 4 the Kids, Ricky Patel. This wonderful children’s story teaches valuable lessons about self-worth, stranger danger, and standing up against bullying.
Narrated by a young boy and a caterpillar, the book encourages kids to trust their instincts, say “no” when necessary, and embrace their own beauty. Even better, all proceeds from The Beautiful Caterpillar benefit Spark Her Change, an organization dedicated to helping women in need.
If you’d like to support this inspiring cause, you can purchase the book in paperback or Kindle format today.
